Music is something that almost all teens have in common. Described by some as a universal language, most teenagers - and people in general - are music fans. Not everybody shares the same taste when it comes to the music they listen to, but this lens will give ideas for gifts that will be ideal for ANY music fan, regardless of the genre they listen to.

iPods!

iPods are more popular now than ever, and they are coming loaded with more and more features. Did you know that you can even send texts via iMessage to other Apple devices with the latest models for free with a wifi connection?

iPod Touch

The iPod touch is much more than a music player. Operating on Apple's own operating system with hundreds of features, the iPod touch can be used to play games, surf the Internet over Wi-Fi, Tweet, record video, send iMessages and make Facetime calls. With access to over 500,000 apps in the Apple App Store, it's almost like an iPhone! The iPod touch also uses iCloud, which stores music, photos and apps and can be accessed wirelessly from all Apple devices. Great for any teen this Christmas!

I had an iPod touch not all that long ago and I loved it! Unfortunately, I lost it on a drunken night out (shhh), but I'd love to have one again! They're so practical, and to me it felt like a second iPhone, just without the calling feature.

iPod Classic

The iPod touch isn't for everybody. Some people don't need an MP3 player that can do everything, especially if they own an iPhone as well. The iPod Classic is another great media player from Apple that has evolved over time and now has a HUGE capacity that will ensure your teen has enough space for all of the music they love!

After I lost my iPod Touch, I bought an iPod Classic 5th generation from eBay, and I'm in love with it. It may not have all the capabilities that the Touch has, but that's okay for me because I own an iPhone. What I love about my iPod Classic is the amount of storage it has. Mine is 30GB and it's not even half full, even after putting all of my music on it. It also has the ability to play videos in color, which is another bonus!

iPod Nano

If your teen prefers music players that are small and compact, then the iPod Nano could be just the perfect gift for them this Christmas. Perfect for fitting in a pocket or attaching to clothing with the clip design, this tiny device had great storage and battery life. With features such as shake-to-shuffle and Tap Genius which selects songs that go well together, the iPod Nano 6th Generation is small but impressive!

I've never owned an iPod Nano (too small for me), but a couple of my friends have them and they love them. They're the perfect music player for people who love compact gadgets.

MP3 Players

iPods aren't for everybody, and some teens may prefer to just have an MP3 player created by a company other than Apple. The options are literally endless, but here are a few of the top MP3 players on the market that will be great for your teen while they're out and about and want to listen to their music.

Concert Tickets

...or gift cards!

One of the greatest gifts you could give to your teen would be concert tickets to see their favorite band or artist live. Of course, this won't always be possible because it is all dependent on the touring schedule of said band or artist! There is, however, a great alternative.

Ticketmaster now offer gift cards that you can pre-load with money so that the recipient can buy tickets themselves when a concert or event they are interested comes around. The gift cards come in values of $25, $50, $75, $100, $150 and $250. These are perfect for music fans as the cards can be used to purchase tickets to any event that they choose.

Though I am no longer a teen, a gift card for concert tickets would be the ultimate gift that someone could get for me. I am a huge fan of music and love going to concerts.
