Great Gifts for a Guitar Playing Dad
Treat Your Father to a Practical Gift This Year!
Guitar playing is a popular past time for all generations. In my family, it's not my father that plays guitar, but my uncle, and he's always thankful for gifts that are related to his hobby and passion. When people think of gifts to buy for guitar players, they think along the lines of the traditional necessary set-ups... amplifiers, pedals, cables, guitar straps, but there are some unique and very useful items that you can buy for a guitar player.
If you're looking for a great gift for your guitar playing dad this Father's Day, why not treat him to something that will come in handy when it comes to his guitar playing, that he doesn't have already? This lens contains some of the more practical and useful items that I've either used myself, or me or one of my cousins has bought for my uncle. Trust me, your dad will be thankful!

Pickmaster Plectrum Cutter - Let Dad punch his own picks!
One of the most irritating things about being a guitar player is losing picks - I know this from experience. I can't count the amount of times I've had to go out and panic buy plectrums because all of mine seem to have disappeared. Chances are, your dad has this problem, too! Picks are tiny and easy to drop and lose (usually they'll turn up somewhere obscure a few months or years down the line...)
Treat your guitar playing dad this Father's Day and end his plectrum problems by buying him a Pickmaster Plectrum Cutter. Losing picks won't be a problem anymore, and it's a great way to recycle, too! He can punch picks from recycled plastic up to 1mm thick and have a set of brand new picks to practice with in no time! Punching picks is actually great fun, and beats having to go out and buy new ones every few weeks when they magically disappear. It's a fun D-I-Y project, in a way, and recycling is always good.
GIGmate PRO Guitar Tool Kit - Everything a Gigging Guitarist Will Need!
If you dad takes his guitar playing a little more seriously than just a hobby and plays gigs, then this kit could be a life saver. My uncle swears by it, and it's been in his gig bag for a while now. It contains everything that a gigging guitarist could possibly need while performing or setting up to. Screwdriver, string winder, string cutter, allen keys, a mini torch... It has it all.
If your dad enjoys performing for people with his guitar but hasn't yet made it to the level of having his own guitar technician do the hard work for him, he will surely appreciate this tool kit from GIGmate. I'm not playing gigs - I'm too shy for that - but my uncle loves this kit and would be lost without it.
Play and Care?
Do you believe that being able to care for and properly maintain your guitar is just as important as being able to play it?
Ernie Ball PowerPeg Battery Powered String Winder - Take the hassle out of changing strings.
Changing the strings on a guitar is something that almost all guitar players loathe. It was my least favorite thing on Earth to do - it's tedious and I always ended up with sore hands. With a little help from Ernie Ball, though, it is no longer a hassle. This was actually recommended to me by my uncle, and it was a definite step up from the gel string winder that I'd been using. It makes changing strings fast, easy and no longer much of a chore.
If your dad is one of the many guitarist who hates changing strings, then you could make his life a whole lot easier by gifting him this battery powered tool!

As the clip says (and demonstrates!) every guitar player needs one of these. It makes restringing a guitar so much faster and easier, and any guitar player - your dad included - will be thankful to have one in their possession!
Jim Dunlop 6504 Dun Guitar Tech Kit - For a clean and shiny guitar
There's nothing better than a healthy, well conditioned guitar. When a guitar looks good, it plays good... and the guitarist looks good while playing it! This handy kit from Jim Dunlop provides polish, lemon oil and lubricating conditioner to keep the guitar body, frets and strings in the best condition.
If your dad is anything like my uncle (and like me), then his guitar will be like another child to him, and he'll want to take care of it! This kit is all he will need to keep his guitar looking clean, shiny and happy!
Planet Waves Dynaflex Gyro Hand Exerciser - For getting those hands warmed up and ready!
The most important thing to a guitar playing dad is undoubtedly his hands. How else is he gonna work that magic on the fretboard?
Whether your dad is just starting out playing guitar or is a seasoned professional, he will benefit from this hand exerciser. It takes some getting used to to get the motions right (it felt weird to me at first - but fun!), but after a couple of goes it will feel natural. It's great for wrist exercises and increasing hand speed and endurance.
The best part is, it's not just limited to guitar playing. This hand exerciser is useful for people who play sports (particularly racket sports) or those who work using a computer.
